A man has found out the hard way that it's never wise to trust strangers on the internet after his photoshop request was hijacked by pranksters.

Sydney DJ Andy Bird posted on Facebook group Bondi Local Loop asking for help tweaking a photo of a yacht on a gloomy day in the Sydney harbour.

'I need to make this picture into a bright sunny day… any photoshop experts out there? Please help,' he wrote, while offering $40 for any assistance.

Instead of the changes he requested, Mr Bird's original photo became the subject of some hilarious edits.

The most dystopian take on Mr Bird¿s request was an incredibly close up image of the sun with visible flames licking off it against a dark black sky

The yacht was also in danger of being attacked by a terrifying giant squid rising up from the water.
